1. Acceptance of these terms
Geothermal Map (geothermalmap.com) is operated by Energy Corridor Imaging LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”). These Terms of Use apply to our website, maps, geothermal project and company information, wells, news, documents, and related services. By using Geothermal Map, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
If you use Geothermal Map on behalf of an organization, you confirm that you have authority to accept these terms for that organization.
2. Access and accounts
Our homepage, legal pages, and contact form are publicly accessible. Maps, project profiles, company profiles, and other detailed sections may require an authorized account. Access does not include unrestricted or bulk access to our database.
You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for activity through your account. Do not share credentials to bypass access limits, impersonate another person, or attempt to access information or functions for which you are not authorized. Contact us if you believe your account has been compromised.
3. Permitted use and intellectual property
You may use the information you are authorized to access for your own research and internal business analysis. Geothermal Map’s software, branding, original content, and database organization are owned by us or our licensors and are protected where applicable by intellectual property laws.
Without our written permission or an applicable license, you may not scrape or systematically download the database, redistribute or resell access, publish a substantial copy of our content, or use automated tools to bypass browsing, account, or API limits. Do not interfere with the service or attempt unauthorized access to our systems.
API access, bulk exports, and onward data use are governed by the scope and limits agreed in a separate written agreement. These restrictions do not claim ownership of public-domain facts or government documents and do not override rights granted by applicable law or a third-party source’s license.
4. Information, maps, and source documents
Geothermal Map brings together information from public records, regulatory agencies, company materials, news, and other sources. We aim to provide useful information, but records may be incomplete, outdated, estimated, or incorrect. Coverage and document availability vary by project and location.
Maps, plant coordinates, well locations, resource estimates, lease areas, land and mineral rights, power infrastructure, boundaries, and other layers are for general research. They are not surveys, engineering drawings, utility-location services, or confirmation of site access, capacity, interconnection, permitting, or project feasibility. Verify material details with the relevant operator, agency, or original source.
Content is for informational purposes and is not investment, legal, engineering, environmental, or other professional advice. You are responsible for your decisions and for obtaining any professional advice your work requires.
5. Third-party content and links
Documents, articles, maps, and other material supplied by third parties remain subject to their owners’ rights and applicable terms. Access through Geothermal Map does not grant additional reuse rights. Linked websites and services have their own terms and privacy policies; we do not control them or endorse their content merely by linking to them.
6. Service availability and suspension
We may update features, correct records, or perform maintenance. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access or availability of any particular source or record. We may restrict or suspend access to address misuse, security concerns, legal requirements, or violations of these terms. Any rights under a separate written agreement or applicable law continue to apply.
7. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, the service and its information are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of accuracy, completeness, suitability for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted availability.
To the extent permitted by law, Energy Corridor Imaging LLC and its representatives are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses, including lost profits, lost opportunities, or loss of data, arising from use of or inability to use the service. Nothing in these terms excludes liability or statutory rights that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
8. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains the information processed through Geothermal Map, including account information, technical data, cookies, and services used to display maps or protect access.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Subject to any mandatory rights under applicable law, disputes relating to these terms will be heard in the courts located in Harris County, Texas.
10. Changes to these terms
We may revise these terms as the service evolves. We will post the revised terms and update the date above. For material changes affecting existing users, we will provide notice through the service or by another appropriate method before the changes take effect, except where an immediate change is required by law or to address a security risk.
